M.. Charles Leon “Charlie” Jernigan, âge 66, passed away in Savannah, Septembre 9, 2011, la suite d'une longue maladie.
M.. Jernigan was born December 28, 1944, in Coffee County. He was an avid track star and football player at Coffee High School. He was a graduate of Furman University. M.. Jernigan attended the St. Illa Baptist Church of Douglas. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Jernigan and his beloved daughter, Melissa Garay.
Survivors include his loving compassionate friend and wife, Lana B. Jernigan; mère, M.. Ivylyn Jernigan of Douglas; un frère, Allen (Peggy) Jernigan of Douglas; une soeur, Susan (Jerry) Griffin of Fitzgerald; and several aunts, oncles, nephews and nieces.
Funeral services were held at the St. Illa Baptist Church of Douglas on Wednesday, Septembre 14, 2011, à 11:00 a.m. Tour. Jimmy McMillan conducted the services. Songs were “Jesus, Jesus” and “Amazing Grace” performed by the St. Illa Church Choir.
