Charles Ray Glisson Sr., 81, von Valdosta, died Friday, Dez. 8, 2006, at his residence after a lengthy illness. Die Beerdigung findet statt 3 p.m. today in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Alton Hardee officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. He was born on July 22, 1925 in Pelham to the late Shafter and Mamie Pope Glisson and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Herr. Glisson was a veteran of United States Navy Armed Guard during World War II and had worked for many years at Strickland Cotton Mills and Owens-Illinois-Bag Plant. He attended Trinity Baptist Church and was a member of the former Pyle Baptist Church where he served as deacon and Sunday School Superintendent.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Young and Faye DeLoach.
