Charles Ray Glisson Sr., 81, de Valdosta, murió el viernes, Dic. 8, 2006, at his residence after a lengthy illness. Los servicios funerales se llevarán a cabo en 3 p.m. today in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Alton Hardee officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. He was born on July 22, 1925 in Pelham to the late Shafter and Mamie Pope Glisson and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Sr.. Glisson was a veteran of United States Navy Armed Guard during World War II and had worked for many years at Strickland Cotton Mills and Owens-Illinois-Bag Plant. He attended Trinity Baptist Church and was a member of the former Pyle Baptist Church where he served as deacon and Sunday School Superintendent.
Le sobreviven su esposa, Annette Glisson of Valdosta; dos hijos y nueras, Charles,Jr. and Maria Glisson of Tifton, Bobby and Becky Glisson of Valdosta, two daughters and sons in law, Linda and John Beatie of Mineral Bluff, GA., Beverly and Marty Broome of Valdosta, siete nietos, Ramsey Sumner, Christian Glisson, Cole Glisson, Candler Glisson, Devin Schaer, Sarah Broome and Derek Broome, two stepchildren and their spouses, Latrelle and Charles Kelly of Valdosta, Buddy and Carolyn Simpson of Valdosta, una hermana, Betty Young of Tampa, Fla. y numerosos sobrinos y sobrinas. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Young and Faye DeLoach.
