Ann Georgine Cash Smith (Sig.ra. Robert C.) died at home on March 10, 2012, a seguito di una malattia estesa. Sig.ra. Smith was born February 22, 1928 in Hoschton, Georgia, the ninth child of the late Mr. e la signora. In. J. Cash. She attended North Georgia College and graduated from the University of Georgia in 1948. While at UGA she met Robert C. Fabbro, her future husband. Following graduation Mrs. Smith taught 4th grade while her husband pursued his medical degree. They married in 1952 and had three children. The Smiths moved to Waycross in 1957.

Sig.ra. Smith was active in her children’s schools, serving as PTA president and as an after-school tutor. She was an active member of the Ware County Medical Auxiliary and the Service League. She eagerly participated in local cultural events. A gracious hostess, she often opened her lovely home to host small concerts.

She served as President of Friends of the Library at the Okefenokee Regional Public Library and was a voracious reader who surrounded herself with books. Sig.ra. Smith believed that one is never too old to learn. In her seventies she became an efficient web surfer and enjoyed reading online magazines and emailing her friends and relatives. Every day she completed three difficult crossword puzzles and read from her New Testament, activities she believed were good for her heart, soul, and mind.

She was an active member of First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She also served as pianist for the Men’s Bible Class and taught Sunday school with her husband.

A celebrated cook and baker, Sig.ra. Smith was known for her delicious chocolate pound cake and her cheesecake. She enjoyed gardening for most of her life and spent hours tending her roses, ferns, and herbs.

She is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-nine years, Dr.. Robert C. Fabbro, three children, Robert Cranford Smith, Jr. di Waycross, Nan Smith Stifel (husband Peter) of Bethesda, Maryland, and Robin Smith (husband Clay Culp) di Waycross. She also is survived by her grandson, Drew Stifel, of Arlington, Virginia, un fratello, Carey Cash (wife Louise) of Bethlehem, Georgia, e diversi nipoti. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Cash, Broadus Cash, and Myron Cash, and four sisters, Ruby Cash Langford, Etta Cash, Geraldine Cash Langford, and Janet Cash Westbrook.
