Henry Wakefield Sutton, 90, of Tifton died Wednesday, Septiembre 28, 2011, en su residencia. Los servicios funerales se llevarán a cabo en 11 a.m. today at Tifton’s First United Methodist Church. El Rev. Stephen Webb and the Rev. Bruce Sack will officiate with burial to follow at Oakridge Cemetery.

His grandsons, Chris Sutton, Jason Sutton, Scott Sutton, Jay Annis, Josh Carr and Jonathan Crowe will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Harper, Tommy Cottle, Dale Pflug, Rollie Delk, Steve Woodham, Charles Powell, Sonny Hamilton, Dick Kitchens, Frank McGill, Clegg Green, Taddy West and members of the Beacon Sunday school class and the Fellowship Sunday school class of Tifton’s First United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends today from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service in the sanctuary of Tifton’s First United Methodist Church.

Sr.. Sutton was born on May 19, 1921 in Tifton and was the son of George M. Sutton and Nonnie Clegg Sutton, ambos ya fallecidos. He was also preceded in death by one son, Frederick W. Sutton; y un hermano, Lt. George M. Sutton.

He retired from insurance sales after 58 año. He was a member of Tifton’s First United Methodist Church, where he was a past Sunday school superintendent. He was past president of the Exchange Club, member of the Tift County Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber Hall of Fame, past chairman of the Tift County Library Board, past president of Life Underwriters Association, Emeritus Director of the Tift County Foundation for Educational Excellence, life member of the Life Underwriters Million Dollar Round Table, recipient of the DeNean Stafford Award, Director of the Bank of Tifton Board for 28 years and served in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was a lifetime resident of Tifton.

Sr.. Sutton is survived by his wife, Ann Bishop Sutton of Tifton; one step-son, Joe W. Carr of Waynesville; one daughter and son-in-law, June Sutton Annis and husband Michael of Tampa, Fla.; one step-daughter, Charlene Carr of Tifton; una hermana, Imogene Sutton Holmes of Tifton; eight grandchildren; y 17 bisnietos.
