James Gibbs Patrick Sr., 89, of Omega, Martedì è morto, Febbraio. 21, 2012, nella sua residenza.

Funeral service will be held at 11 antimeridiano, Giovedi, Febbraio. 23, 2012, at Omega Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Smith and Dr. Terrell Ruis officiating. Burial will follow in Omega City Cemetery. La famiglia riceverà amici da 6-8 p.m. today at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors.

Sig.. Patrick’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Deacons of Omega Baptist Church and M.C. Hawkins, Jones Ponder, Ford Spinks, Milton Mercer, Ellis Whittington, Pait Willis, Thomas Patrick, David Keith, Edwin Walker, Rob Reinhardt, Joe Manning, Dale Pflug, Jimmy Allen, Frank McGill, Donald Smith, Ed Powell, James Johnson, Marilio Vasquez, Scott Turner, Tony Weaver, Jason Hurst, Bill Weaver, Willie Wallace, and Cecil Green will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Sig.. Patrick was born Jan. 21, 1923, in Tift County to Charles Russell Patrick and Millie Gibbs Patrick, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Clarke Patrick, who died in 2004; due fratelli; and four sisters.

Sig.. Patrick had lived in Tift County all of his life. He attended Omega High School and the University of Georgia where he studied agriculture. He was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Pacific from 1943-1946. When he returned home, he began his career in farming with his father, Charles Russell Patrick. Farming had been Mr. Patrick’s passion all his life. He loved tilling the soil and seeing things grow. He always said farming was a very rewarding life. Sig.. Patrick’s motto was: “Doing For Others.”

Patrick Farms has been a member of the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers’ Association for many years and a member of the Chamber of Commerce. Elected South Georgia Agribusinessman of the Year in 2004, Sig.. Patrick had always been committed to every phase of agriculture.

Sig.. Patrick was a member of Omega Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and had served in every capacity of the church. He was a former member of the Tift County Board of Education, a Director of C&S Bank of Tifton, and one of the founders of South Georgia Bank, Omega, Ga.

Sig.. Patrick is survived by his wife, al quale era stato sposato 65 anni, Helen Johnson Patrick, of Omega; his daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Larry Dean of Lake Park, Delaine and Larry Seamon of Spanish Fort, Ala.; his sons and daughters-in-law, Gibbs Jr., and Diane Patrick of Omega, Stan and Julie Patrick of Leesburg; and his grandchildren, Jaime and Jessica Patrick, Jon Patrick, Robert Tindell, Chad Tindell, Kent Patrick, Chase Patrick, Brent Seamon, Zach and Lauren Seamon, Brooke and Casey Music, and Shad and Betty Dean; and his great-grandchildren, Anna and Maylla Patrick, Kaytibeth and Aubrey Music, and Brandon and Easton Dean.
