Sra.. Juneau Hyers Zerban, 87, of Waycross died Thursday night at Satilla Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born in Mershon, Georgia to the late Walter F. Hyers and Macie Bell Brunson Hyers.
Juneau was a 1943 graduate of Blackshear High School. From there she lived in numerous places around the United States working for Southern Bell Telephone Company. She ultimately found her niche in life when she became owner of Kirk Realty in Dunnellon, Florida. Dunnellon was then her home for the next thirty seven years. She was an elder at Dunnellon Presbyterian Church. Juneau also served as a civic leader in Dunnellon and was an active member of Rainbow Estates Country Club.
She eventually moved back home due to failing health where she lived with her brother Bennie and was cared for by her sister Macie. In Waycross she attended Second Baptist Church, and loved to support their children’s programs. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Zerban, a brother, Jack Hyers and a sister, Sue Carrol Hodges.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Brunson Hyers and his wife Betty Sue of Waycross, Bennie Hyers of Waycross, Eddie Lou West of Jackson, Carolina del Norte, Fred Hyers and his wife Helen of Sacramento, California, Bobby Hyers and his wife Glenda of Mershon, Macie Ann Mooney of Waycross and numerous nieces, sobrinos y otros parientes.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m., Saturday in the chapel.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Mrs. Juneau Hyers Zerban will be held 11 a.m., Sábado, Enero 21, 2012 in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.
