Kenneth “Emo “Gowen, 68, a resident of Brunswick, GA passed away Sunday December 11, 2011 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. A memorial service will be held 11 am del sábado. Enero 14, 2011 graveside at Traders Hill Cemetery in Folkston, Georgia.
Sr.. Gowen was born in Woodbine, GA on August 20, 1943 to the late Morris Pierce Gowen and the late Julia Inez Catoe Gowen. He had been a resident of Glynn County since 1969. Sr.. Gowen graduated from Camden County High School in Woodbine and was employed by Brunswick Pulp and Paper for 19 years as a pipefitter. He was also employed by High Performance Tube for nine years as a machinist. Sr.. Gowen was a lifetime member of Northside Baptist Church where he attended the Men’s Sunday School Class.
Sr.. Gowen was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather that enjoyed fishing, hunting and stock car racing. He leaves behind many fond memories that will be cherished by all.
In addition to Mr. Gowen’s parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Cathy McCulloch.
Sr.. Gowen is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Sharron B. Gowen, his son Michael A. Gowen, his daughter Glynda K. Gowen, his grandson, Austin Andrew Gowen, two sisters Vonice G. Bunkley and husband
Cecil, and Julie G. Harvey and husband Alan, two brothers R. Clayton Gowen and wife Lynda, and M. Lavon Gowen and wife Beth, three aunts, Elaine Pokoma, Grace Thompson, and Rae Bryant, his uncle Thomas Catoe and wife Alda, his beloved pooch Jasmine, and twelve nieces and nephews.
