M.. Kristofer Max Helms, 23, of Jacksonville, Florida died Wednesday at his residence. He was born in Waycross to Richard Edwin Helms and Teressa Marie Blount. M.. Helms served in the United States Army as a guardsman during the Iraq War. He was currently serving in the State of Florida Army Reserves. During his time in Iraq, he was awarded the Iraq Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon. Kristofer was of the Christian faith, and upon returning from Iraq was enrolled as a full-time student.
