On August 15, 2011, an angel of the Lord was dispatched from heaven and the eyelids of our dear sister, Marlene “Lene” Burgman, were sealed. She died after a short illness at South Georgia Medical Center on Monday, Août 15, 2011. She was born on September 13, 1962, in the Bemiss Community to the late Mr. Orze and Mrs. Elizabeth Roundtree Burgman.
She received her education from the Lowndes County Public School System where she was a Georgia Bridgeman. After graduation, she attended Valdosta State University and received her Bachelor of Education Degree in Science. She was a member of the Lowndes Association of Educators, the Georgia Association of Educators and the National Association of Educators. Marlene was currently an educator in the Lowndes County School System teaching science for 25 ans. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Hahira, Géorgie.
Marlene had a passion for farming. She loved doing her yards, driving her father’s tractor and planting her flowers. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, M.. Orze and Mrs. Elizabeth Roundtree Burgman; une soeur, Irene Burgman; and a brother, Owen Burgman.
She leaves to cherish her memories one loving son, Brandon Lemarcus Burgman of Valdosta, Géorgie.; four loving sisters, Delores Moore (Henry) of Oak Park, Michigan, Carolyn Burgman, Clementine B. Barnett and Diane Evans (Eddie), tous Valdosta, Géorgie; deux frères, Orzie Burgman, Jr. de Valdosta, Géorgie., and Charles Edward Burgman (Gerri) of Glen Burnie, Maryland; eight aunts; two uncles; des amis spéciaux, Will and Wilene James, Gwendolyn Burgman, Dewayne Stafford, Verla McNeil, William Bell, Marcus and Odell Campbell and the Bullard Family of Hahira, Géorgie.; one god sister, Elaine Uddyback; also a host of nieces, neveux, cousines, sorrowful friends and the Lowndes County School System.
