David F. Jones, 72, of Leary died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, Décembre 29, 2011. Le service funèbre aura lieu à 11:00 A.M., Samedi, Dec.31, 2011 at Harvey Funeral Chapel with Rev. Scott Tomlinson officiating. Burial will follow at 4:00 P.m. at the Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery near Lakeland, Géorgie.
David was born in Folkston on Nov. 2, 1939, son of the late Thomas Scott Jones and Letha Jackson Jones. He was raised in Lakeland, attended public schools there and in Clinch County graduating from Clinch Co. High School before attending Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton.
He was employed for many years with Bermuda Plantation in Leary, with Albany Tractor Company of Albany and Dawson and currently was employed with J. & B. Irrigation of Morgan. He was a Baptist and a member of the Sportsman’s Club of Albany.
His favorite hobby was fishing, and he had many fishing buddies all over Georgia, Florida and the Southeast. He never met a stranger and always had great fishing stories to tell.
En plus de ses parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David F. Jones, Jr. and a sister, Patsy K. Lee.
Survivors include his loving wife of 49 ans, Trish Kyser Jones of Leary, deux filles, Rhonda J. Carlisle (Freddie)of Dawson, and Amy J. Crutchfield,(Tommy)de Lexington, Caroline du Sud, une soeur, Cathy Sirmans (Excité) of Lakeland, four granddaughters, Tyler Carlisle, Claire Carlisle, Garrett Crutchfield, and Greta Crutchfield.
