Dr. Henrietta “Honey” Watt is survived by her husband of 63 ans, Dr. Francis Hansell “Hank” Watt.
Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, she grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut, the daughter of Dr. Henry and Helen Halbert Hicks. She was Phi Beta Kappa at Wellesley College, graduating in 1944. She received her M.D. from Johns Hopkins Medical School in 1948 where she met her husband. She performed her internship at Hartford Hospital from 1948-49, and a Fellowship in Cardiology at Johns Hopkins in 1950. She maintained a private practice in general medicine in Tallahassee from 1971-1989. She also served as Medical Consultant to the Florida State Vocational Rehabilitation for 17 ans. With her husband she worked in mission hospitals in Haiti, Democratic Republic of Congo (formerly Zaire), Kenya, and Mexico. She served as Trustee on the Board of Medical Benevolence Foundation for 6 ans.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by their seven children: Lindsey W. Mars, Dr. Helen Watt, Laura W. Casati, Francis Hansell Watt, Jr., Sandy W. Hearn, Jamie W. Jones, and Carolyn W. Cantwell; 16 petits enfants; 6 arrière-grands-petits-enfants; and her step-mother, Gladys Hicks.
Graveside service is at Laurel Hill Cemetery, 16th Street in Thomasville, Géorgie, 1:00 pm Saturday, Décembre 10 with memorial service to follow at Faith Presbyterian Church, Tallahassee, à 2:30 h. Reception after the Witness to the Resurrection, in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Haitian American Friendship Foundation, P.O. Boîte 3421, North Fort Myers, FL 33918.
She was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church. She loved the Lord her God with all her heart, soul, mind and strength.
