Dawn Owens Smith Ellis, 38, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Friday, April 15, 2011 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, April 17, 2011 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Rev. Dan Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation will be held from 7 until 9 Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Dawn was born January 20, 1973 in Fitzgerald to Betty Clark Owens and the late Gerald L. Owens. She lived in Fitzgerald most of her life graduating from Fitzgerald High School in 1992. Dawn was a former employee of R& M Grocery and Southeastern Communications and worked seasonally for Shann Peanut Company. She was a member of the Baptist faith, a good cook and enjoyed reading.
She is survived by her husband: Jimmy L. Ellis; daughters: Shelby N. Smith and Kensly H. Smith; mother: Betty L. Owens; stepchildren: Jamie Ellis, Brianna Ellis and Jimmy Ellis; brother: Brian (Tara) Owens and a sister: Selinda Owens (Ricky) Holt, all of Fitzgerald as well as several nieces and nephews.
