monument 3Mrs. Young was born on Aug. 15, 1938, in Stockton, Georgia, a daughter of the late George W. and Verlie Mae (Stokes) Delk.

She is survived by John C. Young of Punxsutawney.

She was a member of the Mahaffey United Methodist Church. She loved God.

Doris was a corrections officer for the Clearfield County Jail, a Cub Scout Leader, Bell Township Civil Defense Director, an EMT for Mahaffey Area Ambulance and a member of the Grandmothers Club.

She bowled for more than 30 years, and most of all, Dot was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who loved time spent with her family.

She is survived by one son, John “Skip” Young, Jr. of Punxsutawney; two daughters, Angela Allessie of Punxsutawney and Teresa Capozzoli of Aberdeen, Maryland; two brothers, William R. Delk and wife Mellita of Valdosta, Georgia, and Larry E. Delk of Ray City, Georgia; one sister, Carolyn E. Ranallo and husband Martin of Blakely, Georgia; four grandchildren, Pamela Hannawell, A.J. Capozzoli, Cory Allessi and Dylan Bennett; two great-grandchildren, Matthew Capozzoli and Cara Capozzoli; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, George E. Delk, and one sister, Pamela Lynn Delk.
