Duboise White Sr., 80, of Fitzgerald died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Paulk Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Ross and the Rev. Danny Hughes officiating. Duboise White Jr., and Mary Ellen Swank will give the eulogies. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. White was born April 28, 1931 in Worth County to the late E.L. and Claudia Mae Lavender White. He graduated in 1945 from Sylvester High School. Mr. White was a SSgt. in the Medical Corp U.S. Army, stationed in Darmstaad, Germany. He moved to Fitzgerald in 1957 and started White Pest Control Co. Mr. White was a 50-year Mason of Pine Level Lodge # 353 and a member of the First Baptist Church.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Amberly and DuBoise White Jr., of Atlanta; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ellen and Michael Swank of Atlanta; three grandsons, DuBoise Sumner White , Jamison Henry White and Michael McCrae Swank; three brothers, Dovard and Nell White of Sylvester, Hollis and Garland White of Americus and Buryl and Sandra White of Sylvester. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nell Key White; daughter, Jennie Lou White; a brother, Forest White; and a sister, Audrey White.
