Mrs. Evelyn Davis King of Ashburn, Georgia departed this life on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.

The funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. from the Madison Avenue Church of God by Faith in Ashburn, Georgia with the Reverend Horace Bentley officiating. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia.

Mrs. Evelyn Davis King was born on October 16, 1959 in Turner County, Georgia

She was educated in the Turner County Public School System and was attending classes at Moultrie Technical College.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to Willie James King, Jr. They were the loving parents of three wonderful children.

Evelyn gave up this busy walk of life on Thursday, April 7, 2011, when the Lord called one of His children Home. A brother, Robert Bateman, and a sister, Carolyn Bateman, preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memories a husband, Mr. Willie James King, Jr.; two sons, Martin Norris, Tifton, GA, Jimmy Norris, Jr. (Aisha), Ashburn, GA; daughter, Corretta Norris (Adrian), Ashburn, GA; mother, Willie Mae Bateman, Ashburn, GA; five sisters, Dorothy (James), Lizzie (Anthony), Jennifer, all of Ashburn, GA, Teresa M. Davis (David), Brenda Ann Jackson, both of Tifton, GA; brothers, Arthur James Davis, Albany, GA, Tommy Bateman, Larry Bateman, Donnell Davis, Greg (Nikesha) Pitts, Derrick Pitts, all of Tifton, GA, 13 grandchildren, Martise, Martivia, Jamartin, Martin, Jr., Jimmy III, Kenashia, Kiana, Arianna, Jaheem Norris, Adrian West, Travian Martin, Donald and Ronald Goldsborough III; a loving friend, D.J. Davis, and a host of nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, other relatives and friends.
