Mr. J.C. Mallory, 86, died Wednesday night (December 19, 2012) at the Hospice House Satilla following an extended illness.
He was a native of Talbotton but has lived in Waycross for the last 50 years. He was a member of Emmanuel’s International Cathedral of the Holy Spirit where he served as a deacon until he became ill. He retired from CSX Railroad after 42 years of employment.
He was a son to the late Collis Mallory and Mattie Jackson Mallory. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Mallory; and two brothers, Hershel Mallory and Collis “Junior” Mallory.
Mr. Mallory is survived by his wife of 62 years, Blanche Mallory of Waycross; five children, Katherine Hart (husband Issa) of Valdosta, Katie M. James of Waycross, Gloria A. Mallory of Atlanta, Judy Yarborough of Waycross, and Dennis C. Mallory of Waycross; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; a sister, Katie B. Badell of Rochester, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday (December 27, 2012) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Lee Moore Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday from 10 until 11 o’clock.
