Ellijay-JoAnn Butler Evans Davis, 78, of Ellijay, formerly of Tifton, died Sunday, October 2, 2011, at North Georgia Medical Center in Ellijay.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 6, 2011, in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors with Dr. W. Wayne Roe, the Rev. John Hughes, and the Rev. B. J. Funk officiating. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors.Darrell Osborne, Joe Tinsley, James Herring, Wilbur Webb, Skeeter Kelly, C. J. Davis, Loren Williams, and Pat Marchant will serve as pallbearers.Born April 3, 1933, in Homestead, Fla., to Dave B. Butler and Bessie Selena Morgan Butler, both deceased, Mrs. Davis was also preceded in death by her first husband, Othal C. Evans, to whom she was married for 56 years.Mrs. Davis grew up in Tifton where she graduated from Tifton High School and Moultrie Technical School. She was an LPN and worked as a nurse for eight years on the surgical floor at Tift Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tifton. Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband, Jim Davis of Ellijay; three daughters and three sons-in-law, Barbara Jo and Glenn Coburn and Laurie and Rex Norman, all of Tifton, and Carla and Andy Borem of Sycamore; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Jack and Lori Davis of Waleska and John and Deb Davis of Fayetteville; and her grandchildren, Rebecca and Shaun Dickey, Evan Borem, Jacob Borem, Timothy Borem, Adam Teal, Lauren Teal, C. J. Davis, Maggie Davis, Lindsey Murphy, and Kelley Dasinger.
