Funeral services for Jonnie Claud Parker, 72, of Albany, GA will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 4:30 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn. Mr. Parker died Tuesday at the Willson Hospice House in Albany following an extended illness.

Mr. Parker was born in Chattahoochee, Florida and was the son of the late John Henry and Sarah Whiddon Parker. He was a member of the Sunnyside Baptist Church in Albany. Mr. Parker graduated from Ashburn High School in 1957 and was a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Georgia School of Pharmacy in 1961. He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired Pharmacist and the owner and operator of Parker Pharmacy in Albany from 1965-2001. He had resided in Albany since 1961.

Mr. Parker is survived by his sons, Jon Parker, Albany, Ga. and Erik Gengler, Jacksonville, Florida. Also surviving is one brother, Jerry L. Parker, Ashburn, Ga. and two sisters, Janice P. Oxford, Savannah, GA. and Jenell P. Hungerbuhler, Roswell, GA.
