Joseph S. Branscomb – SAVANNAH – Joseph S. Branscomb, age 69, passed away June 4, 2011, in Savannah, GA. Born in Stevens Pottery, GA. Joe moved to Savannah in 1972, from Waycross, GA. He was employed by the Fort Benning Children’s Schools, Waycross City Schools, and a school counselor for the Chatham County Board of Education until his retirement. After his retirement, Joe was a delivery driver for Sherwin Williams Auto Paints. He was a member of Cadwell United Methodist Church in Cadwell, GA and attended St. Frances Cabrini in Savannah. United States Army Veteran serving from 1966 – 1968 with a tour in Vietnam in 1967.

He is preceded in death by his parents Marvin & Lillian Branscomb. Survived by his wife of 40 years Edith Branscomb; sons Edward (Mary Kate Ferry), Joseph and John Branscomb; daughter Barbara Bay (Don) and “adopted daughter” and devoted neighbor Sherry Williams. Brother, Marvin Branscomb; sisters, Mary Belle Branscomb, Jessie Guerra and Jane Swenson. The family wishes to thank everyone who participated in the care of Joe through out his illness.
