Mr. Judson Colan Hand was born Dec. 10, 1913 to Colin Abraham and Minnie Missouri Collins Hand in Whigham, Georgia.  He was one of six brothers: Heywood, Aubrey, Paul, Frank, and Elmer.  He was married to Elizabeth (Betty) Nagy for 47 years until her death in 1983.  To this union, 4 sons and 3 daughters were born: Judson William (M.Betty Hazel), Betty Jean (Eugene) Harrison, Charles Colan (Dorothy Gray), Walter Frank (Jody Cochran), JoAnn Mildred (G. Clayton) Denison, Mary Margaret (Lewis) Werner, and Wendel Lee.  Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by sons Wendel L. and Charles Colan, and a grandson Judson Wendel Werner.

A retired carpenter and farmer, he was a devoted member and deacon of Magnolia Baptist Church.  Mr. Hand was a quiet, loving, Christian man who was and forever will be adored by his children and grandchildren.
