Mr. Kristofer Max Helms, 23, of Jacksonville, Florida died Wednesday at his residence. He was born in Waycross to Richard Edwin Helms and Teressa Marie Blount. Mr. Helms served in the United States Army as a guardsman during the Iraq War. He was currently serving in the State of Florida Army Reserves. During his time in Iraq, he was awarded the Iraq Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon. Kristofer was of the Christian faith, and upon returning from Iraq was enrolled as a full-time student.
He is survived by his wife, Tiffany Mara Helms of Waycross, two daughters, Annamarie Helms of Waycross, Kristina Helms of Waycross, his mother, Teressa Marie Blount of Waycross, his father, Richard Edwin Helms of Charlotte, North Carolina, a sister, Kingsley Blount of Jacksonville, Florida, two brothers, Brandon Adams of Waycross, Mitchell Helms of Waycross, his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Blount of Waycross, his paternal grandparents, Max and Nita Helms of Charlotte, North Carolina, two nieces, Alaiya Mathis, Lexxy Adams, a nephew, Braylin Adams and several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
