Luther Cleve Dean, 57, of Pavo, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at Henry Medical Center in Stockbridge, GA.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14, at Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Baptist Cemetery. Members of the Southeast Arm Wrestling Association will be casketbearers.
Born Dec. 15, 1953, in Moultrie, he was the son of the late Luther B. Dean and Blanche Parramore Dean. He was co-owner and operator of Homes of Pavo and was a member of Autreyville Baptist Church. He was the World Champion Arm Wrestler for ten consecutive years, and competed twice in the World’s Strongest Man Competition.
Survivors include one son, Shannon Dean and wife Suzanne of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Terri Olliff and husband Shane of Pavo and Leann Dabdoub and husband David of Moultrie; one brother, Wayne Dean and wife Glenda of Pavo; one sister, Faye Darlene Clark and husband Keith of Moultrie; and 14 grandchildren.
