Rev. Roy Grantham, 58, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J.W. Taylor and Rev. Jeff Cummings officiating. Interment will follow in Englewood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Rev. Grantham was born September 2, 1952 in Ocilla, Georgia to the late Pete and Dorothy Young Grantham. He lived in the community most of his life. Rev. Grantham graduated from Irwin County High School in 1971 and from barber college in Atlanta. Rev. Grantham was a barber at Cook’s Barber Shop, a Baptist Minister, truck driver and a former employee of Affordable Homes. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Englewood Baptist Church and a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.

He is survived by his son: Kirk Grantham of Fitzgerald; daughter: Kristi Lynn Miller of Willoughby, OH; stepchildren: Regina (Gary) White, David (Betty) Kent of Ocilla; grandchildren: Skylar Michelle Miller, Blake Miller, Timothy Miller and Ian Miller; great grandchildren: Gage Knight and Colby Cowart; step grandchildren: Eric Cowart, Sierra Lanier, Chris Tucker and Shameka Johns; brothers: Gerald Grantham of Fitzgerald and David (Maxine) Grantham of Willacoochee; sisters: Lynette (Leonard) Griffin of Ocilla, Loretta (John) Fletcher of Sylvester and Jane (Howard) Griffin of Ocilla as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Grantham and a brother, Billy Grantham.
