Ruby M. Sirmans, 89, died Thursday night (October 28, 2010) at Satilla Care Center following an extended illness.

She was a native and life-long resident of Waycross. She was the wife of the late Albert Wilson Sirmans, Sr., and daughter of the late Charlie Hamilton Music and Elizabeth Taylor Music. She was also preceded in death by a son, Albert W. Sirmans, Jr., and a brother, Jack Charles Music, Sr.

She formerly owned and operated Ruby’s Beauty Corner located across from Memorial Stadium and later moved the shop to her home. She was well-known for having a green thumb and for her love of working in her yard. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Joseph Emerson Sirmans of Waycross; a sister, Wanell Estell Mancil (husband Clarence) of Douglas; three brothers, Banner Eunice Music of Waycross, James Timothy Music (wife Lois) of Callahan, FL, and Billy Purdom Music (wife Frances) of Dixie Union; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
