Mr. William Shirrell Kicklighter, 68, of Waycross died Tuesday night at his residence after a brief illness. He was born in Alma, Georgia to the late William Henry Kicklighter and Susie Mae Carter Kicklighter. Mr. Kicklighter had made his home in Brantley County for most of his life. He worked installing sheetrock and was a member of Woodard Chapel Southern Congregational Methodist Church.
Mr. Kicklighter loved fishing and working in his garden. He spent time as a rodeo rider and horse trainer. Most of all he loved his church, his family and the time he spent with them. Mr. Kicklighter is survived by his wife, Ambia Kicklighter of Waycross, four daughters, Karen Hernandez and her husband Fernando of Waycross, Julie Hand and her husband Bill of Waycross, Alicia Ternest and her husband Steven of Blackshear, Kaycee Thorne and her husband Edward of Waycross, five grandchildren, Will Kicklighter and his wife Breanna, Justin Johns, Brooke Johns, Bethany Hand, Taylor Thorne all of Waycross, three great grandchildren, Caiden Johns of Waycross, Aubrey Johns of Spokan, Washington and Ashton Kicklighter of Waycross, a sister, Vonice Gamage of Hazlehurst, and numerous other relatives.
