Mrs. Wanell “Nell” Register, 78, went home to be with the Lord Monday evening (December 12, 2011) at her residence after an extended illness.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Waycross. She was a homemaker and member of Morton Avenue Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Her personal ministry was loving and caring for others in need.

She is the daughter of the late Albert Davis and Mandy Taylor Davis. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Roger Register; one son, Buck Register; and one grandson, Ashton Barnes.

Survivors include two daughters, Mandy Thornton (husband Mickey) of Bristol, and Pug Barnes (husband Adam) of St. Mary’s; four grandchildren, Misty Perkins (husband Jamey), Mickey Thornton (wife Cassie), Caroline Barnes and Drew Barnes; five great grandchildren, Dalton, Dillon and Alli Perkins, Garrett and Averie Thornton; two brothers, Foster Davis (wife Rosie) of Pearson, and Denny Davis (wife Lynda) of Waycross; one sister-in-law, Camilla Perritt of Waycross; and numerous nieces and nephews.
