William “Bill” Crews, 79, of Brunswick, GA passed away Saturday August 20, 2011 at the Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, GA. Burial will be 10 am Wednesday August 24, 2011 at Sardis Cemetery in Folkston, GA. Serving active pallbearers will be Justin Crews, Patrick Wuertz, Billy Repko, George Carter, III, John Waters, and Sonny Kicklighter. Honorary pallbearers are George Zeigler, and the Georgia Pine Credit Union Board of Directors.

A memorial service will be held 6 pm. Wednesday August 24, 2011 in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Elder Ronnie Scarboro officiating the service.

Family will receive friends from 6 -8 pm Tuesday August 23, 2011 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
Mr. Crews was a native of Folkston, GA born December 25, 1931 to the late Elbert Crews and the late Mabel Crews. He had been a resident of Brunswick, GA for fifty two years. Mr. Crews was employed by Brunswick Pulp Land Company as a superintendent for 34 years. He served on the Board of Directors several years at the Georgia Pine Credit Union. He was also a member of the Brunswick Primitive Baptist Church.

In addition to Mr. Crews’s parents he is preceded in death by his brother Elmer Crews.

Survivors include his wife Lottie Bell Crews of Brunswick, GA, a daughter Lynette Wuertz (Bill) of Elkhart, IN., a son Dennis Crews (Rebecca) of Brunswick, GA, two grandson Patrick Wuertz of Orlando FL., and Justin Crews of Naples, Itlay, a step-granddaughter Laura Wuertz Barac ( Andro) Los Angeles, CA., a sister Anges Duke of Waycross, GA, a brother Kenneth Crews (Edie) of Seattle, WA., and several nieces and nephews.
