William T. “Bill” Hersey, age 83, of Douglas passed away suddenly Tuesday evening, at the Coffee Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness. Mr. Hersey, a native of Ware County, had lived in the Coffee County area for many years.  He was the son of the late William Thomas Hersey, Sr. and the late Betty Elizabeth Spivey Hersey.  He was a former postman in the Green Acres Community, and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Survivors include: His Wife: Mildred Butts Hersey of Alma, GA. Children: William Terrell Hersey, Donna Sherrell, and Janie Carol Waters, all of Alma, Ga. Brother: Henry Virgil Hersey of Douglas, GA. Sister: Eloise Joiner of Jacksonville, Florida. 8 Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Other Relatives.
