Kitty Jean Walters Carr, 70, of Chula, passed to the glory of God on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Chula with the Rev. Michael Walters and the Rev. Randall Gay officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Albritton Beaumont Funeral Directors.

Pallbearers will be Allison Robertson, Dawn Townson, Amy Culpepper, Bryan Carr, Ed Walters, Harlie Townson, Damon Carr, Ed Robertson and Hayden Carr. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie and Joyce Carr, Derrell and Dianne Carr, Randy and Jane Carr and Franklin Tanner.

Mrs. Carr was born Sept. 28, 1940, in Irwin County, to Cecil Edward Walters of Chula and the late Myrtice Estelle Cantrell Walters. She was a beloved wife, mother and homemaker who, after 30 years of service, was retired from Hornback Orthopedic Clinic. In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by one son, Terry Carr, and was also a longtime member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Herman T. Carr of Chula; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Terri Carr of Gray; one brother and sister-in-law, Aldine “Al” and Gayle Walters of Richmond, Va.; two grandchildren, James and Kristen Carr of Gray; a special niece and nephew, Allison and Ed Robertson, and their son, Seth, all of Macon; and several other nephews, nieces and cousins.
